What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop and optimise embedded software connecting hardware, firmware, and wireless technologies for high performance and reliability
• Integrate and refine wireless communication protocols within software systems

What We’re Looking For

• Knowledge of networking protocols including Ethernet and TCP/IP
• Proficiency in C++ and object-oriented design for embedded systems

• OTE: £54,000+ with allowances

The Role
As an Automation Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimising automated machinery to ensure high performance and minimal downtime. You will support ongoing engineering improvements within a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance on automation equipment
• Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions

• Complete shift reports, fault logging, and maintenance data entry

• Rotating shifts including early, late, and night shifts
• Early: 06:00 – 15:00
• Late: 13:30 – 22:00
• Night: 21:00 – 07:00
• Weekend shifts: Saturday (07:00 – 19:00), Sunday (08:00 – 19:00)
• Flexibility required for shift cover and overtime

Requirements

• Multi-skilled engineering background (electrical and mechanical)
• Minimum ONC Electrical Engineering / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
• Experience maintaining automation or production equipment
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations
• Ability to communicate technical issues clearly
• Full UK driving licence (occasional travel required)
