Senior C# Engineer

Description

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work as part of a highly skilled and close-knit development team following Scrum methodologies to develop market-leading insurance pricing solutions. This is a varied and challenging opportunity where you will play a key role creating new product features and enhancing existing code, whilst ensuring the product continues to meet high levels of reliability, maintainability, usability and performance.

The Role:

Working with the Product Owner to define, refine and deliver the product backlog
Designing and documenting software solutions meeting functional and non-functional requirements
Implementing and refactoring product code (C#), following best practices for maintainability, testability and performance
Implementing unit tests, developing test frameworks and associated automated test cases
Reviewing and debugging code to identify defects, performance bottlenecks or technical debt
Working closely with test engineers to guarantee suitable test coverage, identifying and executing manual tests if necessary
Participating in sprint planning meetings, daily stand-ups and sprint retrospectives, striving to continuously improve the team velocity, its processes and engineering practices
Mentoring junior members of the team and taking a lead role for some of the above activities

Qualifications

What you’ll bring:

The essential skills/experience for this position are:

Proficient in software development using C# .NET
Experience with the full software development lifecycle in a commercial/production environment: requirements capture and analysis, estimation, detailed software design, implementation, unit and system-level testing, installation and deployment, maintenance
Experience with software engineering best practices: object-oriented design and implementation, design patterns, SOLID principles, Agile and Extreme Programming methodologies
Experience with software development tools: IDE’s, version control, test automation, continuous integration, defect and backlog management systems
Ability to coordinate day-to-day development and bug fixing activities
Ability to design high-performance, scalable and extensible software architectures which are also easy to test, debug and maintain
GUI design/implementation, knowledge of standards and frameworks such as WPF or WinForms
Appreciation of current and emerging technologies along with their potential benefits and limitations

Build AI-natively. AI is how we work. It’s not a productivity layer on top of engineering, but the default starting point for how problems get approached and solved.

Champion observability. Use Honeycomb, Datadog, and Rollbar to understand and improve your systems. Operational data drives stability, not just incident response.

What You’ll Bring

AI-native engineering practices. You use AI tools daily and can speak to what you’ve built, where they changed your approach, and where they fall short.
A track record of shipping. You’ve built something real and put it in front of users. 3+ years of production full-stack, backend leaning experience.

Senior Solutions Engineer

As a Senior Solutions Engineer at CircleCI you will be the customer’s trusted technical advisor throughout the sales and retention lifecycle. You’ll provide hands-on advice for cloud-based and single tenant deployment and product guidance with CircleCI’s largest prospects and customers. You will serve as the technical expert and owner of deal validation strategy, collaborating with account executives and success managers to identify customer business goals, needs, and pains and showing how CircleCI can address them.

What You’ll Do

Lead the technical implementation and day-to-day management of CircleCI Demonstrations and proof-of-concepts.
Demonstrate the technical feasibility , integrated into our customer’s technology stack, ensuring early customer success and a long-term business relationship.

What We’re Looking For

5-10 years experience as an engineer in the application development, devops, or CI/CD space.
Extensive experience with solutions selling in a technical customer-facing role, such as Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Customer Success Engineer, or similar position, preferably in a SaaS or software development environment.
Strong proficiency in CI/CD concepts, DevOps practices, software configuration, and scripting languages like Python, Shell, etc..
Knowledge of Docker or Linux containers in general.
Outstanding presentation skills. You feel comfortable leading presentations and demos of our platform to groups, both technical and non-technical, in-person and virtually.
Proven track record of engaging with enterprise clients, understanding their technical requirements, and delivering solutions that drive customer success.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, Sales, Product, and Engineering, to advocate for customer needs and provide valuable insights for product enhancement.
