Sitting at the heart of Sky’s Group Architecture function, the AI architecture team blends deep technical expertise with commercial focus to deliver next-gen AI solutions that power everything from customer agent knowledge to conversational AI.

As an AI Solution Architect, you’ll work alongside data scientists, product thinkers, and domain experts to shape the way Sky uses AI, Agents and large language models to unlock real value across the business.

What you’ll do

• Design Enterprise-Grade Solutions: Architect end-to-end systems using AI, Agent Frameworks and LLMs turning business problems into scalable, secure and performant technology blueprints.
• Partner Strategically: Engage with senior stakeholders across Sky to align AI capabilities with real commercial goals, applying your consulting mindset to shape strategic solutions.
• Bridge Tech and Business: Act as the connective tissue between engineering, data science, and business units ensuring clarity, alignment and momentum across the delivery lifecycle.
• Collaborate Cross Functionally: Work closely with developers, architects, project managers and data scientists to bring innovative AI products to life.
• Mitigate Risk by Design: Anticipate risks and embed security, compliance, and operational resilience into every solution from the ground up.
• Drive value and impact: steer business and engineering teams towards sustainable AI solutions that deliver real value for the business long term, avoiding duplication and tech debt.
• Document with Precision: Produce robust architectural documentation, data models, and specifications to guide successful implementation and handover.

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience architecting AI solutions in complex, enterprise environments especially involving Agentic, GenAI or LLM technologies.
• Strong working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their native AI tools and services.
• Background in consulting or business-facing solution design, with the ability to distil complex requirements into elegant cost-effective architectures.
• Programming experience and fluency with common AI/ML frameworks, services and deployment practices.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; you’re comfortable presenting to execs and collaborating across disciplines.
• A strategic, problem-solving mindset able to weigh technical trade-offs and drive high-value decisions

Essential criteria:  

• Strong solution architecture capability, including the ability to translate business problems into secure, scalable, resilient and cost-effective technology designs.
• Hands-on knowledge of at least one major cloud platform — AWS, Azure or GCP — including relevant AI, data, integration and deployment services.

Desirable skills and experience: 

• Experience with agentic AI patterns, orchestration frameworks, retrieval augmented generation, prompt engineering and responsible AI practices.
• Knowledge of data architecture, integration patterns, APIs, event-driven design and enterprise platforms used to connect AI solutions into production environments.
• Experience operating in agile delivery environments, supporting governance forums, architecture reviews and technical decision-making across multi-disciplinary teams.

Our lively campus is a free shuttle bus away from Livingston North train station and the town centre. Plus there’s onsite parking available for cars, motorbikes and bicycles.

Osterley:

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There’s also plenty of bike shelters and showers.

Role/Team overview

Reporting to a Principal Solution Architect, drive solution architecture for a UK&I portfolio or platform.

Working in Engineering Solutions as part of UK&I CTO, you’ll be involved in initiatives across customer engagement, sales, commerce, finance, CRM, fulfilment, service & assurance and more.

What you’ll do

• Engaging with enterprise and system architecture, and product and engineering teams, break down initiatives into appropriate capability change. Distil complexity into clear architectural guidance.

• Constructively challenge commercial and operational requirements, proposing alternate approaches where they can simplify the solution or delivery but still bring value.

• Role-model the capability-led approach to architecture and documentation, embedding its use in the team and demonstrating its value to peers and stakeholders. Contribute to the capability model for your area.

• Help to build the architecture runway for your portfolio, informed by business and technical objectives, and enterprise architecture strategy.

• Work with your peers and colleagues to strive for technical excellence, collaboration and strong delivery.

• Contribute to solution architecture governance, engaging positively and effectively in the process.
• Participate in enterprise governance forums when appropriate, balancing alignment with Group Architecture strategy with a pragmatic view that drives UK&I’s commercial and operational priorities.
