Hexwired has partnered with a leading organisation within the financial services sector, seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Risk Technology team. This is a hands-on role combining deep technical expertise with engineering leadership, focused on building secure, scalable, and enterprise-grade platforms. You will play a key role across the full software development lifecycle, contributing to architecture, development, testing, and deployment of critical risk systems and data platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the architecture, development, testing, and deployment of Risk systems and data platforms
• Take ownership of the SDLC, delivering clean, secure, and maintainable code
• Promote engineering excellence through code reviews, optimisation, and best practices
• Drive automation across build, testing, and deployment processes
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring engineers and fostering continuous improvement
• Design and enhance CI/CD pipelines for secure and stable releases
• Support scalable and resilient system design, evaluating new technologies
• Champion AI, ML, and automation to improve development and testing efficiency
• Implement automated testing strategies within CI/CD frameworks
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Risk, and Support teams to ensure smooth delivery

Key Skills & Experience:

• Strong experience with C#, Java, and .NET technologies
• Deep knowledge of ASP.NET, MVC, Razor, and JavaScript
• Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Shell)
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, Git, Nexus)
• Experience with messaging technologies (WCF, gRPC, SignalR, RabbitMQ)
• Proven experience within investment banking or Risk Technology environments
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Analytical, solution-focused, and able to perform in fast-paced environments
