Backend Software Engineer job in London – Trading Systems | Fintech Careers UK (C# .NET)
A leading London-based fintech company is looking to strengthen its Back-End Trading & Transactions team, offering an exciting opportunity to work on high-performance financial systems within a growing global trading platform.
This role focuses on developing and optimising transactional systems and money movement infrastructure, contributing directly to a proprietary codebase used by traders worldwide. You’ll collaborate with Product, QA, and Technical Leads, while also taking ownership of key development tasks in an Agile, sprint-based environment.

The Role
As a Backend Engineer (C# .NET), you will:
- Develop, optimise, and maintain trading and transaction systems
- Write clean, scalable, and high-quality code within a collaborative engineering team
- Contribute to feature development, system improvements, and technical enhancements
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and estimation sessions
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust fintech solutions
- Address bugs, technical debt, and performance improvements
Key Skills & Experience
- 2+ years’ experience with C# .NET development (.NET Core or Framework)
- Experience working on financial systems, trading platforms, or transactional applications
- Strong knowledge of Git version control
- Experience delivering end-to-end software projects
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of messaging systems (Kafka, Redis, or similar)
- Experience with AWS cloud services
- Familiarity with Docker and containerisation
