Electrical Design Engineer (National)
📍 Location: UK-wide (travel required)

Salary: Competitive + £4,200 car allowance (or £3,700 cash alternative)
Benefits: Bonus potential, full family private healthcare, 27.5 days holiday (rising to 30), plus bank holidays
The Role
As part of Royal Mail’s growing in-house engineering design team, you’ll help drive innovation across our national operation. Focused on modernising processes and delivering smart, sustainable automation solutions, you’ll play a key part in helping Royal Mail meet its net-zero goals and improve service quality.
This role involves regular travel to various UK sites and reports into the Design Engineering function.
Key Responsibilities

Contribute to innovative design projects and modernise existing engineering systems

Collaborate with maintenance teams to enhance equipment reliability

Champion in-house engineering capabilities and process improvements

Support internal manufacturing for key design components

Promote a positive, high-performance engineering culture
About You
✅ Level 4 (NVQ or equivalent) qualification in electrical engineering
✅ Experience in product design and automation environments
✅ Skilled in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Autodesk)
✅ Strong problem-solving abilities and deadline-focused delivery
✅ Proven track record in driving improvements in a technical setting
