FPGA Engineer – East Kilbride

Hexwired Recruitment is working with a leading electronics manufacturer in East Kilbride that is expanding its engineering team. They are now seeking an FPGA Engineer to support the development of cutting-edge systems that meet stringent safety and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Define high-level firmware requirements using DOORS

Develop and document architectural and low-level designs

Write VHDL/Verilog HDL code using Sigasi Studio
-
Perform HDL simulations at unit, integration, and system levels using Mentor Graphics QuestaSIM
-
Carry out synthesis, place-and-route, and timing analysis (Synopsys Synplify, Xilinx FPGAs)
-
Automate processes with Python scripting
-
Support CI/CD pipelines and manage code with Git
-
Follow structured change control and configuration management practices
What You’ll Bring:
âś… Strong experience in FPGA development (VHDL/Verilog)
âś… Familiarity with design and simulation tools (e.g. QuestaSIM, Synplify)
âś… Experience working within safety-critical or high-reliability environments is a plus
âś… Knowledge of Python and CI/CD workflows
