FPGA Engineer – Cambridge | £75,000–£80,000 + Bonus
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £75k–£80k + Performance Bonuses

Hexwired Recruitment is working with a rapidly growing global tech company based in Cambridge, currently looking for an FPGA Engineer to join their hardware team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure used across more than 150 markets worldwide.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Hardware Group Leader, you’ll define FPGA architecture, select devices, and lead digital design and verification. You’ll collaborate with international teams on cutting-edge infrastructure projects.

Key Requirements

  • Strong understanding of digital systems, logic design, and processor/system architecture

  • Proficient in Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL

  • Experience with FPGA development tools and environments

  • Hands-on expertise across the full digital hardware lifecycle

  • Proven experience with Xilinx and Intel/Altera FPGAs

  • Familiarity with Python

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex hardware issues

  • Proactive team player with strong communication and technical initiative
