Job Description
RF Engineer job in Cranfield – £70k
Hexwired have partnered with an exciting defence firm in Cranfield who are on the lookout for an RF engineer to join their R&D team. This company are on the lookout for candidates with experience in the design, simulation and testing of RF circuitry. Since this firm is involved in the defence industry, any candidate must be security clearable.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and develop RF circuits in line with technical requirements and manufacturing processes.
- Utilise commercial simulation tools and theoretical knowledge to analyse RF circuits.
- Conduct RF testing, characterisation, and optimisation to validate performance.
- Participate in design reviews and technical discussions to support product development.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate RF circuits into larger systems.
- Generate and maintain manufacturing documentation, including Bills of Materials (BoMs) and technical drawings, following controlled engineering change processes.
- Provide guidance and supervision to technicians working on RF component design and evaluation.
Key Requirements:
- Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline (Bachelor’s or Master’s) or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of microwave techniques and electromagnetic theory.
- Hands-on experience in RF circuit design, simulation, testing, characterisation, and optimisation.
- Proficiency in using RF measurement equipment and testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, particularly in aerospace or defence applications, is advantageous.
