Security Engineer job in Surrey on Hexwired – (DOE)
Hexwired has partnered with a leading organisation in the defence sector, now seeking a Security Engineer to support and enhance the security of its systems and processes.
This role will focus on ensuring robust protection against potential threats, working across security planning, risk assessment, and implementation. While you’ll be part of a wider team, the position requires someone who can work independently and take ownership of security initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver security planning and implementation aligned with NIST 800 series standards
- Produce project documentation in line with Security by Design (SbD) principles
- Conduct security risk assessments using NCSC methodologies
- Apply security and information assurance best practices, including CESG Good Practice Guides
- Ensure systems and processes meet Defence Security Standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in project-based security planning and delivery
- Strong understanding of Security by Design principles
- Background in security and information assurance
- Experience with NCSC frameworks and risk assessment methodologies
- Familiarity with Defence Security Standards
- Eligibility for UK security clearance
