Job Description
Solutions Engineer (Acorn) – Python / GenAI / Search
Location: Hybrid / Remote
Department: Engineering
Experience Level: Mid to Senior
Squirro is transforming the way enterprises harness their unstructured data by delivering AI-powered insights. Our mission is to shape the future of work with cutting-edge augmented intelligence solutions—and we’re looking for a Solutions Engineer to help us do just that.
In this role, you’ll work on Acorn, our internal deployment of the Squirro platform. Acorn helps every Squirro team member quickly find critical information and automate daily workflows using our AI agent framework.

What You’ll Do

Enhance and maintain Acorn, Squirro’s internal AI-driven knowledge platform.

Improve LLM relevancy and search results by analyzing user interactions and feedback.

Ensure the reliability and performance of the Acorn deployment.

Collaborate across teams to build, implement, and support internal AI use cases.

Develop backend components in Python and JavaScript to extend platform capabilities.

Deploy solutions on hybrid Linux infrastructure using tools like Ansible.

Document your work and contribute to knowledge-sharing and best practices.
What We’re Looking For

5+ years in software engineering, technical consulting, or DevOps roles.

Strong coding skills in Python and/or JavaScript (React).

Experience with debugging, testing, and API integration.

Proficiency in Redis and/or SQL-based databases like Postgres, MySQL, or MariaDB.

Comfortable with Linux system administration and shell scripting.

Proven ability to deliver full project lifecycles—from setup to deployment and integration.

Familiar with Agile development and collaborative workflows.
Bonus Skills

Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch, including relevancy tuning and indexing optimization.

Background working with unstructured data, NLP, or machine learning projects.

Strong communicator who can explain technical concepts to both internal teams and external partners.

Experience managing and maintaining product and project documentation.
