The Role

As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and supporting this infrastructure, working closely with global engineering teams to ensure the platform remains robust, scalable, and best-in-class.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse, diagnose, and resolve issues across Linux-based server environments
• Develop, test, deploy, and maintain scripts, packages, and system configurations
• Identify optimisation opportunities to reduce latency and improve performance
• Manage system changes, configurations, and infrastructure requests
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver effective solutions
• Contribute to long-term infrastructure strategy and capacity planning

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in Linux/Unix system administration
• Experience with kernel tuning and performance optimisation
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and topology
• Familiarity with tools such as Kickstart, Ansible, Yum, Git, and SVN
• Knowledge of NAS environments and key protocols (NFS, DHCP, TCP/IP, UDP, TFTP, NTP)
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python)
• Experience with BIOS configuration
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Understanding of latency at milli-, micro-, and nanosecond levels and its importance

• Experience with cloud platforms (ideally GCP), Kubernetes, and container orchestration
• Hands-on experience with Linux environments, including installation, upgrades, and maintenance
• Familiarity with Docker troubleshooting and container environments
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, ArgoCD)
• Knowledge of monitoring/observability tools across GCP, AWS, or Azure
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) is beneficial
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Professional and confident communication, both on the phone and in person

Working Environment: Hybrid / Remote

Salary:

• €70,000 – €80,000 per year
• £60,000 – £70,000 per year
