Junior Design Engineer job in Hertford – DOE

Custom Intelligent Security, a leading independent electronic security specialist, is looking for a Junior Design Engineer to join its design team in Hertford. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering or technology graduate to begin a long-term career within the electronic security industry through a structured three-year development programme. You’ll receive industry training, mentoring, and hands-on experience while developing into a technical design engineer.

The role centres around producing high-quality AutoCAD drawings to support installation and project teams, attending client meetings, providing technical design support, and working closely with commercial and engineering teams. This position offers excellent career progression within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Degree or relevant qualification in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT, or a related discipline
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD software
• Strong interest in engineering, technology, and technical design
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong IT proficiency
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
• Ability to work to deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
• Full UK driving licence
• Desirable Experience:
• Previous exposure to AutoCAD
• Knowledge of the electronic security industry
• Experience producing technical drawings or design documentation
