Job Description

Quality Engineer job in Duxford – Aerospace Composites | Continuous Improvement & QMS

A leading global manufacturer of advanced composite materials is seeking a Quality Engineer to join its Duxford-based team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the aerospace sector, supporting high-performance materials such as carbon fibre, prepregs, resins, and honeycomb structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support operations, customers, and suppliers to maximise efficiency and minimise disruption
  • Lead and contribute to quality improvement initiatives (LEAN, FMEA, APQP, 5S, continuous improvement)
  • Manage internal and external complaints, driving resolution through effective root cause analysis (RCCA)
  • Collaborate with global and local teams to ensure timely technical support and solutions
  • Conduct product and system investigations, including statistical and data analysis using tools like Minitab
  • Review specifications to ensure compliance and risk mitigation across global and local standards
  • Support and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS) through audits and process reviews
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of products, processes, and testing methods to support issue resolution

Required Skills & Experience

  • Around 5 years’ experience within Quality Engineering or Quality Management Systems in a complex industry
  • Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO9001 auditing, with awareness of NADCAP
  • Strong understanding of aerospace or advanced manufacturing environments
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. Minitab, SPC techniques, or similar statistical software)
  • Experience with QMS systems or laboratory data management platforms
  • Degree (or equivalent) in a scientific or engineering discipline
  • Strong communication skills and experience working across multi-site/global teams
